Refunds for trips abroad
Vehicle holders are entitled to an annual charge refund for days when their vehicle operates solely abroad. Submit your application with trip controls within one year after the charge period ends. Amounts below 50 CHF are not refunded.
Vehicles subjected to the PSVA in particular coaches campervans/motorhomes and caravans
For each day on which a Swiss vehicle subject to the PSVA demonstrably travels solely abroad, the holder will be entitled to a refund of 1/360 of the annual charge. There is no entitlement to a refund for days on which the vehicle travels both abroad and in Switzerland.
Refund requests are to be submitted electronically to the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security FOCBS using the form provided within a year following expiry of the charge period. No further documents of proof need to be enclosed with the request. However, the FOCBS can require further evidence.
A request below CHF 50.- will not be reimbursed.
