FOCBS employees

Working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to keep Switzerland safe.

"What I like about my job is that I never know what to expect when I arrive at work. Every day is different; my tasks are many and varied. I enjoy working in a team and interacting with people from different cultures. When I go home at the end of the day, I know that I have made my contribution to keeping Switzerland safe."

Anyone who asks FOCBS employees about their work invariably gets a similar answer. In 2021, around 4 700 men and women were on operational duty and in various supporting roles (4 442 FTEs).

The first cohort started the new "Specialist in customs and border security" course in August 2021. After two years of theory and extensive practical training, they will be able to carry out comprehensive 360° checks on goods, people and means of transport independently.
