HVC III providers: NETS and EETS - approved automated HVC recording systems

The kilometres driven by vehicles subject to the HVC, as well as by electrically powered vehicles, must generally be determined using an approved automated recording system.

You can commission the following approved automated recording systems and providers to levy the HVC:

National Electronic Toll Service (NETS)

  • valid only for electronic levying of the road charge within the Swiss customs territory
  • invoices are always issued by the FOCBS
  • vehicles registered abroad must be registered in the “NETS – foreign vehicles” UI of the ePortal

NETS providers

The following NETS providers are available:

NATRAS AG (national NETS provider)

NATRAS AG was appointed by the FOCBS to provide the basic national service required by law. It offers all interested vehicle owners an automated recording system free of charge. The system meets the prescribed standard and may not be adapted to individual requests from vehicle owners.

Approved NETS providers

Other companies can also offer services for the recording of kilometres driven within the Swiss customs territory with approval from the FOCBS. These services may go beyond the basic service.

The following NETS providers are currently approved

Other providers are currently undergoing the approval process. Please contact your telematics partner for information on any available offers.

Note for vehicles registered abroad:

When selecting a NETS provider, owners of foreign vehicles must first register in ePortal as a business partner with the role “HVC holder”. Only then can the vehicle be registered under “NETS – foreign vehicles” in ePortal. Further information can be found here: HVC III in ePortal.

European Electronic Toll Service (EETS)

  • valid for electronic levying of various European road charges
  • for vehicles registered in Switzerland, invoicing is carried out by the FOCBS
  • for vehicles registered abroad, the HVC is invoiced by the respective providers

EETS providers

The following EETS providers are currently approved:

Other EETS providers are currently undergoing the approval process.

Note for Swiss vehicle owners:

Unlike NETS, EETS cannot accommodate all Swiss-specific requirements.

The following restrictions apply:

  • For (towing) vehicles with two vehicle types listed in the vehicle registration document:
    • Regardless of the declared trailer, the higher total combined weight will always be assessed.
  • No exempt trailers/semi-trailers can be declared:
    • If a trailer or semi-trailer is exempt, the maximum permissible total combined weight will be assessed.
