DaziT transformation programme
Lean processes, digital resources, agile organisation, increased mobility, a new professional profile – the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) is continuing to evolve in numerous projects. All have the same goal: we want to fulfil our mission even better and more effectively with the DaziT programme – comprehensive border security for the public, the economy and the state.
Digital transformation

Initial results
Within the DaziT programme, the FOCBS was able to put around 40 mobile apps, other applications and basic IT services into operation.

Passar
Passar is the FOCBS's new goods traffic system for the digital processing of customs procedures. Since June 2023, Passar has been gradually introduced and replaces the freight applications NCTS and e-dec.

DaziT: for business, with business
DaziT is reducing the cost of customs and tax collection procedures. By the end of 2026, the specialist processes will be gradually simplified, standardised and digitalised throughout.
Organisational refinement

New job profile
The new job profile of customs and border security specialist combines the occupations of customs specialist and border guard.

New organisation
Aside from the process structure (processes), the FOCBS's organisational structure will also be aligned with the new requirements.

Cultural transformation
DaziT entails profound changes for many employees: more flexibility, more mobility, more digitalisation and more responsibility – and often in newly formed teams.

Uniform appearance
Following the entry into force of the new official name on 1 January 2022, the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) has gradually renamed its buildings, operating resources, IT applications, websites and email addresses.

New real estate strategy
The transformation of the FOCBS requires a new real estate strategy that is more oriented towards mobility, flexibility and economic efficiency.

Modernisation of resources
Because of the increasing digitalisation and mobility of operational activities, tools and resources also need to be modernised.
