Automated LSVA recording systems: NETS and EETS

For motor vehicles subject to the heavy vehicle charge (LSVA) and heavy-duty electric vehicles used for the transport of goods, the kilometers driven must generally be determined automatically. To determine the kilometers driven automatically, you must contract one of the following providers.

NETS providers

NATRAS AG (national NETS provider)

NATRAS AG was appointed by the FOCBS to provide the basic national service required by law. It offers all interested vehicle owners an automated recording system free of charge. The system meets the prescribed standard and may not be adapted to individual requests from vehicle owners.

Approved NETS providers

With approval from the FOCBS, additional companies may offer automated mileage recording within the Swiss customs territory. These services may go beyond the basic service.

The following NETS providers are currently approved:

Note for foreign vehicle owners

When selecting a NETS provider, owners of foreign vehicles must first register in ePortal as a business partner with the role “HVC holder”. Only then can the vehicle be registered under “NETS – foreign vehicles” in ePortal. Further information can be found here: LSVA on ePortal.

EETS providers (European Electronic Toll Service)

The following EETS providers are currently approved:

Note for Swiss vehicle owners

Unlike NETS, EETS cannot accommodate all Swiss-specific requirements.

The following restrictions apply:

  • For (towing) vehicles with two vehicle types listed in the vehicle registration document:
    • Regardless of the declared trailer, the higher total combined weight will always be assessed.
  • No exempt trailers/semi-trailers can be declared:
    • If a trailer or semi-trailer is exempt, the maximum permissible total combined weight will be assessed.
