Temporary exportation

Temporary exportation allows you to send goods abroad for temporary use and re-import them duty-free. This detailed process saves on duties, requires careful planning and monitoring. Specific conditions must be met and customs documents such as CDTA or ATA Carnet must be used.

Customs declaration for temporary admission (ZAVV)

The customs declaration for temporary admission (ZAVV) allows you to temporarily import goods into Switzerland without a security for exportation. You must return the goods before the validity period expires or declare them for exportation. The process is limited to two years but can be extended under certain conditions.

Temporary exportation of goods (CDTA + ATA Carnet)

The temporary admission procedure is intended for domestic goods which are used abroad only for a limited period of time and then re-imported duty-free.

ATA Carnet

The ATA Carnet is an international customs document for temporary goods movement. It simplifies customs formalities in Switzerland and abroad without additional national documents or securities.

Horses - Temporary exportation

The new Passar goods traffic system changes customs procedures for the temporary exportation of horses. You can take your horse abroad for sporting events, trials, or vacations. A customs declaration or an ATA Carnet is required, except for uncertain sales.
