Cantons

The foreign trade statistics by canton are a major economic indicator at regional level. They provide information on the structure and trend of exports and imports at cantonal and regional level.

In order to ensure their quality, the foreign trade statistics by canton have been based on a new method since 2020 (see note on methodology), with data available retroactively from 2016. The foreign trade statistics by canton also provide information on commodity groups (according to the classification of products by activity, or CPA). This data is now available on an annual basis.
