Instruments of prevention
Sales or service staff in retail, hospitality or events are in direct contact with customers on a daily basis. They are on the front line when it comes to selling alcohol to young people and therefore bear the greatest responsibility for prevention. They have to decide who they can and cannot sell alcohol to.
The sale of alcohol to young people is regulated by law. Anyone who violates the regulations is liable to prosecution.
The supply of alcohol to young people is regulated by law. Anyone who breaches the law is liable to criminal sanctions.
To support sales staff, practical training modules and visualisations of the age limits are available at www.age-check.ch. The site is operated by the FOPH the Swiss Blue Cross and the FOCBS.
