ICS2 Release 3 will be introduced in steps (depending on the type of traffic) starting on 3 June 2024
The phased introduction of ICS2 Release 3 begins on June 3, 2024, targeting economic operators in maritime, rail, and road transport. This release opens new possibilities for the advance transmission of cargo information, adhering to TAXUD requirements and the customs facilitation agreement.
Important information about Release 3
- Release 3 affects economic operators in maritime, rail and road transport, and all those who wish to participate in multiple filing
- The transport chain for directly transported goods from outside the European Security Area is generally via postal and air transport
- TAXUD requirements and specifications according to the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on the simplification of inspections and formalities in respect of the carriage of goods and on customs security measures are also valid for Switzerland
- In Release 3, you also have the option of participating in the advance transmission of cargo information via multiple filing
- For economic operators who already apply Release 2, the Transition from Release 1 to Release 2 strategy should be observed
