Passport, identity card and visa

To enter Switzerland, you need a recognized travel document such as a passport or identity card. In certain cases, a visa is also required. All information on entry and residency requirements can be obtained from the State Secretariat for Migration.

It should generally be noted that to enter Switzerland, you must be in possession of a valid travel document that is recognised by Switzerland (passport, identity card). Foreign citizens also need a visa in certain cases.
