A motorway charge sticker correctly affixed on the vehicle serves as proof of payment.
The e-vignette will be introduced in the course of 2023. The Federal Council will decide on the introduction date in the second quarter of 2023. The introduction in the course of the year has the advantage that the systems will be optimised step by step and the FOCBS will be able to use the experience gained to start selling the vignette for the 2024 vignette year.
The e-vignette will not replace the existing motorway tax sticker; instead, both variants will be used in parallel.
However, the e-vignette will be linked to the number plate instead of the vehicle. This has the advantage that an additional motorway tax sticker does not have to be purchased when changing vehicles or in the case of interchangeable number plates.
The e-vignette will be available for purchase via a webshop.
Please consult the further information on the motorway charge sticker, sale and FAQ.
