G7: Partial Closure of Border Crossings in the Canton of Geneva
The upcoming G7 summit will see the reintroduction of Schengen border controls at the internal border France. To ensure security during the summit, the Canton of Geneva has also decided on a partial closure of border crossings from the 12th till the 18th.
Although certain border crossings are closed, the applicable entry requirements for Switzerland remain valid. At the open border crossings, entry requirements will be checked and waiting times may occur. The Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) aims to minimize disruption to daily life and economic activities.

From June 1 to 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.;
From June 9 to 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In order to put the planned infrastructure in place, the border crossings that will be closed for the duration of the summit will no longer be open to traffic from mid-afternoon on Thursday 11 June.
The partial closure of border crossings should not affect customs regulations and procedures.
