Air travel

In airports, goods are declared by selecting either the red or the green channel.

Green channel

The green channel may be used only if you are carrying goods which:

In both cases, the goods must not be subject to any restrictions and bans, and they must not require a certificate or authorisation.

As soon as you enter the green channel, this is deemed to be a binding customs declaration. Once customs agents have begun a check, you can no longer change your mind and go back. Consequently, you are committing a criminal offence if you select the green channel when the goods you are carrying are prohibited or dutiable or are ones that require authorisation.

Red channel

If you are carrying goods subject to duty or ones that are subject to restrictions, use the red channel. In addition to the declaration of goods, our employees will answer any questions you may have. If you are unsure whether or not you have to declare certain goods, use the red channel.

Travelers go through red / green passage at airport
