The European Electronic Toll Service has been available in Switzerland since 2020. It simplifies the payment of the performance-related heavy vehicle charge (HVC) for foreign-registered vehicles.
EETS is aimed at making it easier for users of the service to pay the tolls for using the European road network in member states of the European Union (EU), by means of a contract with an EETS provider, an on-board unit and an invoice.
In order to be able to use EETS in Switzerland, foreign carriers must conclude a contract with one of the FOCBS's officially approved providers. The officially approved providers are the following ones:
- Telepass S.p.A. - https://www.telepass.com/en/truck
- Toll4Europe GmbH - https://toll4europe.eu/en
- Axxès SAS - https://axxes.fr/en/
Further providers are currently still in the approval procedure.
