More synthetic drugs detected.
Between marijuana, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines and synthetic drugs, 453kg of narcotics were seized by the FOCBS in 2023.
In the area of narcotics, the FOCBS found less marijuana (2023: 243 kilos / 2022: 476 kilos) and less heroin (2023: 7 kilos / 2022: 11 kilos). With regard to cocaine, the amount detected did not change significantly relative to previous years if a major cocaine seizure in 2022 is excluded from the statistics (2023: 110kg; 2022: 568kg; 2021: 90kg).
However, the FOCBS saw a substantial increase in synthetic drugs (2023: 84kg; 2022: 15kg; 2021: 30kg), particularly synthetic cannabinoids.
