Increase in narcotics detected.
In total, the amount of marijuana, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines and synthetic (designer) drugs seized by the FOCBS amounted to no less than 1.09 tonnes. In terms of quantity, the largest increase was recorded for cocaine. During the course of the year, about 160kg of cocaine were confiscated. Furthermore, the FOCBS was involved in a police intervention during which a large amount of narcotics where seized.
The upward trend in drug seizures from postal consignments is continuing. These often involve large amounts of marijuana, sometimes several kilos, coming from North America.
